Note: On the Introduction page to the Book of Mormon, the LDS Church acknowledges that the Bible and the Book of Mormon both contain the fulness of the everlasting gospel despite the fact that many important teachings of the LDS gospel are not found in them. In the basic form of LDS faith, the fundamental principles of their religion are "the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it" (March 2008 Ensign, article: Who is Jesus Christ, p. 14).

If all the other things (the extra Mormon doctrines and teachings not found in the Standard Works) are not to be prayerfully considered as being true, then what is the 'restored gospel?'  What should Latter-day Saints do with their answered prayer confirming that some of the church's teachings are false?
